The cast of Mahira Khan’s first film, Baarwan Khiladi, has been revealed. A small-town lad with aspirations of playing cricket is the focus of the much-anticipated web series.
Akbar, portrayed by Danyal Zafar, aspires to play at the national level of cricket. His hard work pays off, as he gets selected to play in the country’s most prestigious cricket competition.
There is a catch, though, as the young guy is confronted with filthy politics and corruption. After Jahangir, portrayed by Shahveer Jafry, nabs a critical slot in the same squad by unscrupulous methods, Akbar’s character stands up to him in the trailer. This puts Akbar in 12th position, a newcomer who earned his spot.
Sarmad Khoosat, Saba Faisal, Mira Sethi, Kinza Hashmi, Usman Peerzada and others were included in the cast of Julie.
For the series, Fawad Khan and Shoaib Malik make cameos as special guests. It is revealed that Fawad is Akbar’s mentor. This will allow us to watch him in his coach guise and guide Akbar.
Adnan Sarwar directs, Shaid Dogar writes, and Mahira and Nina Kashif produce Baarwan Khiladi. The first episode of the online series will be available on March 5th.
