Bollywood newcomer Mahira Khan, who made her debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, has spoken out about working with the Kal Ho Naa Ho star on romantic scenes. Although their chemistry is well-liked by fans, Mahira was apprehensive to film the intimate parts in the song Zaalima due to her ‘no kissing rule.’

In an episode of Anupama Chopra’s podcast All About Movies, Mahira reportedly said that she intended to set certain limits on the shoot for the song Zaalima by not engaging. In any behavior that could be considered “objectionable.” This was reported by the Times of India. She explained, “I was scared ke ‘kuch zyada na ho jaaye (we don’t cross the line)’. Because I didn’t want to do anything that’s objectionable.” She continued by saying that Shah Rukh was not alone in making fun of her because of it at work.

No kissing me! I’ve always said you couldn’t pull it off because you couldn’t kiss me in this space. It was something that used to make him laugh, of course. She explained that he would tease her by saying things like, “I’m not sure what we have to do in the next scene.” And that the cast and crew ultimately settled on a kiss that satisfied both of them despite her fears and restrictions.

Mahira recalled the time when they were at a loss for what to do in the hook step of Zaalima. If you look attentively, you can see that Shah Rukh Khan does a tiny nose thing the entire time. Will this be okay?” he asked. Is everything fine with you? ‘What do you know?’ she groaned internally.

The Legend of Maula Jatt actress admitted that it took her some time to warm up to the notion, but she did. My first film was Raees, and I was quite nervous. “I didn’t know how it worked, but it was all right in the end,” she added. Now it’s simply a pleasant recollection.”

Rahul Dholakia helmed and Nawazuddin Siddiqui featured in Raees. The film did well at the box office, and the song “Zaalima” is still well-liked today.
