Earlier this year, it was revealed that director Laxman Utekar would be working with Vicky Kaushal again, this time casting him as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The director discussed his plans for the release of this highly anticipated film. “To begin, we can all agree that Vicky is a talented performer. Any of his films will show you that. On the other hand, he is an incredible human being. Second, when the script was done, we looked for an actor who embodied the spirit of Sambhaji Maharaj. Only Vicky, among the newer crop of performers, has the attitude and physique to match. Laxman explained why he thought the actor would be ideal for the role of Sambhaji Maharaj.
Utekar also provides insight into how Vicky Kaushal prepared for his role in the film. Production will begin in September. We started pre-production two months ago and are well into it. Vicky is currently in the gym, working to increase his weight to over 100 kilograms. He’s taking riding and swordsmanship lessons right now. So, all the practice is happening now. The director also revealed that the rest of the casting process and the search for locations had begun.
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, a family drama, is set to be released shortly, and they are currently advertising it. Sara Ali Khan co-stars with Vicky Kaushal in the flick. On June 2nd, it will be available for purchase.
