The ‘NH10’ actress is scheduled to make her first appearance at the festival later this month for a special event celebrating women in the film industry. She’ll have Oscar winner Kate Winslet as her co-star.

Emmanuel Lenain, the French ambassador to India, met with Sharma and her husband, cricket star Virat Kohli, before the festival to confirm the actress’s attendance.

Saying, “Nice to finally meet @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma! Lenain posted a photo to Twitter with the caption, “I wished Virat and #TeamIndia all the best for the upcoming tournaments and discussed Anushka’s trip to the #CannesFilmFestival.”

This year, Indian films “Kennedy” and “Agra” will be presented at the annual film festival, which will be held from May 16 to May 27 for its 76th edition.

Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Pooja Hegde, Hina Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Aditi Rao Hydari are just a few of the Bollywood actresses who have attended the French festival and served on the jury in the past.

In the meantime, Anushka Sharma hasn’t been seen in a film since 2018’s “Zero,” but fans can catch up with her soon in “Chakda Xpress,” available exclusively on Netflix. The biographical drama that Prosit Roy directed is about the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
