Ahad Raza Mir has announced that he will be making his stage return in yet another production of “Hamlet.”

A staging of "Hamlet" by Ahad Raza Mir is being planned for the theatre. Covid-19 caused a two-year delay in the production of the play.

Ahad Raza Mir, an avid theatergoer, is on his way to Canada to star in the production of Hamlet. The original idea was to have the play premiered in October 2020; however, constraints from COVID prevented that from happening. The star of Yakeen Ka Safar has now announced the return of the show.

A poster for Mir’s event, which featured him in a black shirt and a dainty silver necklace, was posted to his Instagram on Tuesday. I am ecstatic to finally make this news after over two years of postponing this concert. He captioned the photo, “I’ll see you on stage, GTA.” The banner announces that between October 12 and 18, there will be five public showings of the new Hamlet play.

The image caption called the performance a “furious and fast-paced Hamlet for our times.” They said of Mir, “Canadian-Pakistani superstar Ahad Raza Mir brings ferocity to this electrifying tale of unhinged vengeance and tainted love.” The play’s director is Haysam Kadri.

Do you have the courage to join our Danish prince on the precipice of self-honoring honesty and the madness and mayhem that only true tragedy can bring? If Mir were to reprise his role as Hamlet, we would walk, no, run, to watch it.

In 2019, Mir’s partnership with an exciting new production of Hamlet was initially unveiled at the Rose Brampton. According to Mir, who made history as the first person of color to play Hamlet on a Canadian stage, “Hamlet is a role an actor can’t quite get enough of.” I can’t wait to bring the concert to Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

In 2019, Mir won a Betty Mitchell Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role as Hamlet in the Canadian theatrical production Hamlet: A Ghost Story at Calgary’s Vertigo Theatre. His performance received widespread critical acclaim.
