Global pop icon Taylor Swift has officially unveiled the title of her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, during an appearance on the hit “New Heights” podcast hosted by her partner, NFL star Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason. The announcement, first reported by Bloomberg, came after days of fan speculation fueled by Swift’s cryptic Instagram teasers.
In a short video clip shared just after midnight in New York, Swift can be seen pulling a vinyl record from a briefcase and telling viewers, “This is my brand new album.” While the official release date has yet to be confirmed, the full podcast episode is set to air today (Wednesday).
This marks one of Swift’s rare guest appearances on New Heights, which has seen a surge in popularity due in part to her relationship with Kelce. According to Edison Research, the podcast ranked as the 10th most popular in the US during the second quarter of 2025.
The news arrives more than a year after the release of her chart-topping 11th album, which boosted global sales for Republic Records, a key label under Universal Music Group (UMG). Facing weaker-than-expected earnings this year, UMG is counting on major stars like Swift to drive music and merchandise revenue.
Earlier in May, Swift made headlines by resolving her long-standing legal dispute with Big Machine Label Group, regaining the rights to her first six albums. Her re-recorded versions have been embraced by fans worldwide, further solidifying her dominance in the music industry.
