Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan made a powerful comeback on Monday, marking his first public appearance since surviving a shocking knife attack at his Mumbai residence last month.
The 54-year-old actor, known for his versatile roles, attended a Netflix event in Mumbai to promote his upcoming heist thriller, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins.
Saif, who sported a visible cast and a neck bandage, addressed the audience with resilience, saying, “It feels very nice to be standing here in front of you. And it feels very nice to be here.”
Saif Ali Khan’s Stabbing Incident
On January 16, an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, allegedly broke into Saif’s Bandra home with the intent to rob. The situation escalated into a violent altercation, leaving the actor with stab wounds to his thoracic spine and other injuries.
He was swiftly admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and was discharged after four days.
Following the attack, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife and fellow actor, released a statement calling it an “incredibly challenging day” for their family. She urged the media to respect their privacy, emphasizing the importance of safety amid excessive coverage.
Saif Ali Khan Returns to Work with Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins
Despite the ordeal, Saif Ali Khan made a determined return at the Netflix slate announcement event, where he promoted his high-stakes heist film.
Directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins stars Saif as a master thief hired to steal the world’s most elusive diamond, The African Red Sun. The film features an ensemble cast, including Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta, and is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix in March 2025.
Speaking about the project, Saif expressed his excitement, stating, “Siddharth and I have been talking about this film for a long time. I’ve always wanted to do a heist movie, and I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star.”
Ibrahim Ali Khan’s Bollywood Debut
Meanwhile, Bollywood fans have another reason to be excited—Ibrahim Ali Khan, Saif’s son, is set to make his acting debut in Karan Johar’s upcoming Netflix film Nadaaniyan alongside Khushi Kapoor.
While the release date for Nadaaniyan is yet to be announced, Ibrahim is already making waves with two additional projects, Sarzameen and Diler, expected to showcase his acting prowess.
