The creators of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ have announced an extended version of the film featuring 20 minutes of additional footage, available in cinemas starting January 11, 2025.
Starring Allu Arjun, the movie has already shattered records, surpassing Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing Indian film. The reloaded version aims to enhance the film’s massive success, delivering even more of the high-octane narrative fans have embraced.
The update was shared by Mythri Movie Makers on January 7, accompanied by a fiery new poster of Allu Arjun as Pushparaj, captioned: “Pushpa2TheRule RELOADED VERSION with 20 minutes of added footage will play in cinemas from January 11. The WILDFIRE gets extra FIERY.”
The story continues to follow Pushparaj’s rise as a notorious gangster, with Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and others in pivotal roles. Fahadh Faasil reprises his role as the vengeful antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
Producers have also hinted at a possible third installment, ‘Pushpa 3: The Rampage’, to extend the saga. The reloaded version will be exclusively available in theaters for a limited time, with no OTT release planned before a 56-day window.
Pushpa 2 Faces Controversies: Deleted Song and Stampede Incident
Despite its success, ‘Pushpa 2’ has faced its share of controversies. A song, “Dammante Patukora,” was removed from YouTube shortly after release due to its satirical take on the police and its alleged connection to the Bhagdhar cinema case.
In an unrelated incident, lead actor Allu Arjun was briefly jailed following a tragic stampede during the Hyderabad premiere of Pushpa 2, which resulted in a woman’s death and injuries to her son. After his release, the actor expressed deep regret and extended condolences to the family.
