Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently shared that she was offered a role in the popular Indian web series Heeramandi 15 years ago, a revelation that has sparked interest among fans.

During a recent interview, Mahira, known for her Bollywood debut in Raees, disclosed that the offer for Heeramandi came when she was in Mumbai attending a friend’s wedding. While at the studio of renowned designers Rizwan and Moin Baig, the conversation turned to the search for a Pakistani actress for the series. Her friend, aware of Mahira’s popularity as a TV VJ at the time, recommended her for the role.

This led to a meeting with famous Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who expressed a strong interest in casting Mahira Khan for the project. However, due to strained diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan following the Taj incident, the opportunity was lost. Additionally, Bhansali was occupied with the debut film of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, which further delayed any potential collaboration.
