Kiara Advani has opened up about how she continued filming during her pregnancy, sharing a touching ritual she followed on set to stay emotionally connected to her unborn daughter, Saraayah. The actor revealed that she would quietly slip into the narrow bathroom of her vanity van before intense scenes to speak reassuringly to her baby while juggling demanding Bollywood projects.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Kiara said motherhood hasn’t slowed her down professionally but has made her “more present” in everyday life. “When I’m with Saraayah, I’m fully there. I notice the smallest details—her eyelashes, her tiny fingers, her giggles. These moments feel incredibly precious,” she shared. Kiara, who welcomed her daughter last July, also revealed that she kept her pregnancy private while continuing to work on films.
Recalling her time on set, the actor shared how she would ground herself before emotional scenes. “Mama is only acting, okay? This isn’t real,” she would whisper to her unborn daughter. The routine helped her separate the emotional weight of her roles from the calm energy she wanted to maintain for her baby.
How Kiara Advani balances motherhood and career
Kiara Advani’s career has remained active after becoming a mother. Her latest release, War 2, emerged as one of the biggest films of 2025, and she has a bilingual project scheduled for release in March. Talking about time management, she said, “I’ve become very conscious about how I use my time. Earlier, it could just slip away. Now, I feel responsible for every gap.” Between feeding her baby and taking calls, Kiara listens to narrations and reads scripts, finding a thoughtful balance between work and motherhood.
The actor also emphasized choosing presence over constant productivity. She has learned to step back from events and appearances that don’t add real value. “Softness isn’t the opposite of strength. It’s one way of being strong,” Kiara said, adding that her childhood love for pink taught her to find happiness in small, simple joys.
Kiara credited her strong support system for helping her navigate this phase, praising her mother, her professional team, and husband Sidharth Malhotra, whom she described as “an incredibly hands-on father.” The couple shares a love for travel, and Kiara hopes to raise Saraayah as a child who grows up experiencing the world fully.
Motherhood has also reshaped Kiara’s relationship with her body. She shared that she now sees her body as something that created life, and that realization has deepened her respect for herself, regardless of shape or size.
Reflecting on her journey, Kiara said that being a mother has broadened her perspective and sharpened her inner drive. Her story shows that with mindfulness, support, and intention, both motherhood and a thriving acting career can grow side by side.
