Bigg Boss Season 19 winner Gaurav Khanna has been basking in success following his victory. However, the spotlight has also brought unwanted scrutiny for his wife, actress Akanksha Chamola. The actor has now addressed online trolling and cheating allegations. These surfaced after a dance video featuring her went viral on social media.
Akanksha Chamola reacts to backlash over dance video
Akanksha recently responded to the criticism by resharing a video from influencer Jayati Unscripted. The influencer called out the disproportionate attention being directed at her. In the clip, the influencer remarks, “Log apne saare kaam-dhandhe chhod ke Akanksha pe focused hain,” highlighting how people seem excessively invested in Akanksha’s personal and professional choices.
The video further questioned why Gaurav Khanna’s Bigg Boss win suddenly became a “problem” for Akanksha. It also noted that every move she makes as an actor is now being unfairly judged.
Double standards called out
Jayati also pointed out the industry’s double standards, explaining that while Gaurav’s on-screen intimacy with co-actors in shows like Anupamaa never led to doubts about his character. In contrast, Akanksha is being criticised simply for performing her job as an actor. Emphasising the hypocrisy, she stated, “Yeh bhi toh actor hi hain na. Understand that.”
Sharing the video, Akanksha added her own note, calling it “feminine energy at its peak.”
Why Akanksha was trolled
Akanksha Chamola faced backlash after dancing with co-stars Kunwar Amar and Ali Hasan during a promotional event for her upcoming show. She had earlier encountered similar criticism for appearing in a dance video with social media star Awez Darbar. Moreover, some netizens even speculated about trouble in her marriage.
Addressing the rumours head-on in an earlier statement, Akanksha had firmly said, “Being married and not cheating is basic.” She further clarified that loyalty is not an extraordinary act but the bare minimum in any relationship. It should never be treated as an achievement.

Professionally, Akanksha Chamola is set to appear in the upcoming series Dil Dhokha Aur Desire. The show will stream exclusively on ShemarooMe starting February 12, 2026.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Khanna recently emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 19, which concluded on December 7, 2025. Farrhana Bhatt secured the position of first runner-up.
