Angelina Jolie Plans to Move Abroad, Seeking a More Private Life Beyond Los Angeles

Angelina Jolie is reportedly preparing to leave Los Angeles in pursuit of a quieter, more private life overseas once her younger children turn 18. According to reports, the Oscar-winning actor and humanitarian is selling her Los Feliz home, valued at around $25 million. She plans to divide her time between Europe, Cambodia, and New York. This move has sparked a lot of interest and speculation about Angelina Jolie leaving Los Angeles.

Jolie, 50, has lived at the historic Cecil B. DeMille estate in Los Feliz with her six children since 2017. Sources claim the property has already been shown to potential buyers, signaling her readiness for a major lifestyle shift.

Her future plans include spending extended periods in New York, where she runs her creative hub, Atelier Jolie. Additionally, she plans to spend time in Cambodia, a country deeply connected to her personal and humanitarian work. She has owned a home there since 2003.

Actor and producer Jae Benjamin, described as a longtime friend, said Jolie is eager to distance herself from ongoing public scrutiny. “She can’t get far enough away from the drama. The only real break is to leave,” he was quoted as saying. He added that she intends to focus on projects closely aligned with her passions.

Jolie has previously shared that she stayed in Los Angeles primarily for her children following her divorce from Brad Pitt. The former couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, who are currently 17. In a 2024 interview, Jolie said she planned to leave LA once her children reached adulthood.

Despite the divorce settlement, Jolie and Pitt remain involved in legal proceedings related to their Château Miraval winery. In December, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered Jolie to hand over unredacted communications connected to the dispute.

Angelina Jolie began her acting career as a child alongside her father, Jon Voight. She rose to fame with films such as Girl, Interrupted, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Maleficent, and Eternals. She has also earned acclaim as a director and producer, with projects like Unbroken, First They Killed My Father, and Without Blood. Her recent production The Outsiders won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2024.

A former UNHCR Special Envoy, she has received numerous honors, including the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and an honorary Dame Commander title.

As one of Hollywood’s most influential figures, Jolie’s reported move abroad marks a significant new chapter.
