Pakistani blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt has added another major international achievement to its growing list of honours. Directed by Bilal Lashari, the film won two awards at the 7th Jackie Chan International Action Film Week in Harbin, China.
The film received the Special Jury Award and Best Art Direction honour during the festival’s closing ceremony on August 11.
Lashari celebrated the achievement on social media, describing the moment as especially meaningful because Jackie Chan’s films played an important role in inspiring his passion for action cinema.
The director also highlighted the memorable atmosphere of the awards ceremony, which took place outdoors in the rain. He expressed his pride in representing Pakistan on an international stage and meeting Jackie Chan, whose work influenced generations of action-film fans.
Lashari dedicated the Best Art Direction award to production designers Namsa Abbasi and Hamza Bajwa, praising them for creating the film’s distinctive visual world. He also acknowledged producer Ammara Hikmat, who could not attend the ceremony.
The filmmaker thanked the entire Maula Jatt team and audiences in Pakistan for their continued support, dedicating the international recognition to everyone who contributed to the film’s success.
