New Dior Forever all New Concealer You Need

we discovered the launch of its new partner in crime, the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer, $36, we had to get our hands on it.

What it is: An all-in-one 24hr-wear concealer designed to hide undereye circles, redness, and blemishes without settling into fine lines. The full-coverage concealer smooths and hydrates with Wild Pansy and has a large doe-foot applicator for targeted application.

First impressions: The first thing we noticed was the incredibly creamy texture – it’s almost whipped. It blends out really beautifully with a damp sponge, fingers or a dense brush, and blends seamlessly whether with other foundations or on bare skin. The formula is more medium than full coverage, so it does take a little building if you want to really brighten the under eyes or spot cover.

The wear: The formula wears like the foundation and lasts really well throughout the day without fading. For under eyes, we definitely recommend setting the concealer so that it doesn’t settle into fine lines, and be careful not to apply too much. If you use too much, it will most likely move into fine lines due to the creamy consistency. The lightweight formula also feels really hydrating and didn’t emphasize our pores – major bonus!

The shades: With 28 shades, there’re plenty to choose from, however, there is definitely space to add on both the fair and deep ends of the spectrum. Out of the rich shades, there are only neutral undertones offered, although we found all of them to be quite warm rather than neutral.

We also found the fairest shade (0N) was not super fair, so there’s definitely space for a few lighter shades, although there is a shade called 00 Universal (a brightener) on the Dior website, which is very fair. The concealer also oxidizes (i.e. gets darker after it’s applied) so we recommend going one shade lighter or trying the shades in store before you buy.

If you already have the Dior Forever Foundation, the same shade in the concealer looks slightly lighter on the first application but the concealer warms up as it sets, so it blends perfectly with your foundation. If you want more of a brightening effect for under eyes, we recommend choosing one or two shades lighter.

Application tips: For full coverage, use your fingers or a dense brush to blend. Use a damp beauty blender for medium coverage. We recommend setting your under eyes with a dusting of loose powder – we used our all-time fave, Huda Beauty Easy Bake, as it’s super fine and gives an airbrushed finish like no other.

Who we recommend it to If you like to use very full coverage makeup or are looking for something to conceal dark circles, we feel like there are better options available. However, this is a really beautiful concealer and great if you love a natural makeup look, or don’t need a really full coverage concealer. If you’re someone who wears light makeup or loves to use concealer only with a light base, then this is definitely a must-try concealer.
