In the ongoing Khalilur Rehman Qamar kidnapping case, Amna Aruj has been remanded to police custody for an additional four days. This decision follows the conclusion of her initial three-day physical remand. Aruj appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, where Judicial Magistrate Nabeela Amir sought further explanations regarding the accusations against her.
Amna Aruj, a model, has maintained that her only involvement was inviting Qamar to her residence, where she denies any participation in the kidnapping. During the court proceedings, Aruj admitted to withdrawing Rs287,000 from Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s ATM, but claimed that the money was handled by Hassan Shah, who allegedly retained it.
In light of these revelations and the ongoing investigation, Magistrate Amir has extended Aruj’s custody to facilitate a deeper probe into the case.
Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a renowned Pakistani scriptwriter, had earlier reported that he was abducted and robbed in Lahore. He alleged that Aruj lured him to her home under the guise of discussing a drama project. Upon arrival, he was allegedly kidnapped by armed men and later released after a ransom was paid.
