 A remake of the Telugu film Jersey, starring Nani, has been released in Bollywood. Awarded at the 67th National Film Awards in 2019 for Best Telugu Film and Best Editing, the original sports drama directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri took home two trophies.

It’s no secret that Shahid Kapoor loves the original film. Nani’s performance was fantastic. I didn’t want to produce a new version of the film. That which I was hoping for in terms of quality and originality. This one is mine. It hit home for me. It’s not simple to do remakes. People’s memories of the original are important, and it’s important not to ruin them. It’s a lot more difficult. This was a tale that needed to be shared. The experience inspired and educated me in ways that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Jersey was filmed in Chandigarh, while cricket was filmed in Mohali, he said.

Both the Hindi and English versions of the film have been directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films are behind the film’s production. Geetha Arts and Dil Raju Production are also involved.
