Bollywood icon and celebrated scriptwriter Javed Akhtar’s X (formerly Twitter) account has been hacked, as reported by Indian media.
The unauthorized access led to a misleading post about the Indian Olympic team participating in the 2024 Games.
Javed Akhtar, known for his active presence on the platform, addressed the situation on Sunday night after regaining control of his account.
In his statement, Akhtar clarified, “My X ID has been hacked. A message supposedly from my account about the Indian Olympic team has been posted. This message is harmless but was not authored by me.”
He did not provide details on when the breach was discovered or what the post specifically contained.
Akhtar has informed his 4.6 million followers that they are currently filing a complaint with X’s support team regarding the security breach.
