India Today claims that Arijit Singh, an Indian playback singer and music composer, has surpassed Grammy winners Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Eminem to become Spotify’s most-followed artist.

The vocalist from Phir Aur Kya Chahiye is currently the third most-followed artist on Spotify, right after Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande.

Soon after the release of his song Chaleya for the upcoming Jawan, starring Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, on YouTube, Arijit began his meteoric rise to fame. The highly acclaimed and award-winning musician has also risen to one of Spotify’s highest places in terms of the number of people who follow them.

The singer who sang “Channa Mereya” has only been performing professionally for a little over a decade, but his popularity has skyrocketed in India, and he has fans all over the world because of his catchy songs, meaningful lyrics, and beautiful voice. Songs like “Kesariya,” “Tum Hi Ho,” “Kabira,” “Manwa Lage,” “Zaalima,” “Illahi,” “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” and “Agar Tum Saath Ho” are among his best-known works.

Spotify India recently provided a screenshot of the most popular songs in India, and it features not one but two Arijit songs from the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani soundtrack. Both Tum Kya Mile and What Jhumka were released, with the latter becoming an instant hit thanks to its infectious melody.

The seven-time Filmfare winner is rapidly expanding their influence on the global music scene. This is evidenced by the fact that he easily outran the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, who is now touring the world to sold-out stadiums for her continuing Eras Tour.
