With the film Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan will return to the big screen after a four-year absence. Pathaan will be released in theaters in January of next year, as announced earlier this year. Shah Rukh Khan was also reportedly allocated films by renowned directors Atlee and Rajkumar Hirani. Rajkumar Hirani finally revealed the project on his Twitter account on Tuesday. Taapsee Pannu will play the lead in the flick.

“Through the course of my career, Shah Rukh Khan has always been on my wish list,” Rajkumar Hirani stated, “and after trying to work multiple times in the past, we were ultimately destined to have ‘Dunki’ commemorate our cooperation.” He brings unrivaled energy, charisma, humour, and charm to a picture, and I’m excited to bring that magic to the big screen.”

“Raj Kumar Hirani is one of the finest filmmakers of this generation,” Shah Rukh Khan continued, “and we have always spoken about working together, and I am incredibly delighted we are finally doing it with ‘Dunki.'” We’ve just been shooting for a month, and I’m loving every minute of it. Donkey, Monkey, Raju ke liye main…kuch bhi ban sakta hoon!”
“I am beyond happy to go on this adventure and be a part of this very special film,” Tapsee Pannu said of the project. It’ll be my first time working with Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan, two individuals I adore and respect.”
Khan’s Red Chilies Entertainment will produce the film. In the announcement video, SRK praises Hirani for films such as Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Sanju before asking if he has any scripts for him. Hirani responds favorably, stating that the picture contains elements of comedy, drama, and romance. Khan, on the other hand, is perplexed by the term since he doesn’t comprehend what it means. Later, he is seen walking away, pondering whether he should just make the movie.
On December 22, 2023, the picture will be released in theaters, and production will begin soon.
