Putting an end to all rumors, Diljit Dosanjh has confirmed that he is very much a part of the highly anticipated war drama Border 2. The Punjabi superstar shut down the speculations with a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video straight from the film’s sets.

Speculation started swirling after Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sardaar 3 faced a ban in India but saw an international release. The controversy escalated with calls for a boycott and criticism over his association with an actress from a neighboring country. Reports even claimed that the makers had decided to drop Diljit from Border 2 due to the backlash.
But Diljit has finally set the record straight. Taking to Instagram, the singer-actor posted a BTS video, proudly wearing the Indian Air Force uniform from the sets of Border 2. The caption read simply, “Border 2 🎬”, with the iconic song “Sandese Aate Hain” playing in the background.

In the viral video, Diljit is seen stepping out of his vanity van and being warmly greeted by his co-stars with a “Namaste.” The scene appears to be part of a song sequence, where Diljit dances with fellow soldiers on set.
Diljit Dosanjh to Play War Hero Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon
Diljit Dosanjh portrays the legendary IAF officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon in Border 2. He remains the only Indian Air Force officer to be posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his heroic defense of the Srinagar Air Base during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Actress Sonam Bajwa will play his love interest in the film.

Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, reprising his iconic role from the 1997 blockbuster. Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty will also play crucial roles. Directed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari, the film is produced by JP Dutta, Nidhi Dutta, and Bhushan Kumar. The war epic is scheduled to release in cinemas on January 23, 2026.
