In the ongoing legal tussle related to the late TV host Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s video leak, famous Pakistani YouTuber Yasir Shami reportedly faces arrest warrants. This development came to light after Dr Bushra Iqbal, the former wife of the politician-TV host, shared details on social media.
Bushra revealed photocopies of the non-bailable arrest warrants against Yasir Shami on her Instagram, shedding light on the legal proceedings. In a detailed caption, she highlighted that the Court of Judicial Magistrate Karachi had issued the warrants in connection to the cybercrime obscene video leak case involving Aamir Liaquat.
According to Bushra, Aamir’s third wife, Dania Shah, identified Yasir Shami and herself as the two accused in the case. She expressed hope that justice would prevail soon.
Yasir Shami surrendered himself before the Karachi City Courts on Thursday and was granted bail upon providing a surety bond of Rs2.5 million. However, the court instructed him to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to provide his statement regarding the case.
This development follows repeated summons to Yasir, who had been absent from previous proceedings. Legal representatives stressed the importance of his involvement in moving the case forward, warning of potential arrest warrants for continued non-appearance.
The legal dispute surrounding the viral videos has involved various parties, including Aamir’s third wife Dania, who is currently out on bail. Liaqat Gabol, representing Dania, emphasized Yasir’s pivotal role in the case and attributed delays to his actions.
