Sportswomen need hope: Shoaib Malik applauds Sania Mirza’s success.

Sania Mirza retired from Grand Slam tennis on Friday after losing the Australian Open mixed-doubles final. After the match, Mirza gave a tearful speech announcing her withdrawal, which garnered online support from fans and colleagues. Shoaib Malik, her husband, wishes her well.

Shoaib Malik tweeted a Grand Slam tournament photo of the tennis star. He wrote her a touching note.

“You’re a sportswoman’s savior. I’m proud of you. Keep going—you inspire many. “Congratulations on an amazing career,” a Pakistani cricketer wrote.

Post-match, Sania Mirza said goodbye. “Rohan was my first mixed-doubles partner at 14, and we won the nationals,” Sania Mirza said at the event. “I finished my career here and played the final with one of my best friends and partners, 22 years ago. “There’s no better place or person to end my Grand Slam career.”

Sania Mirza added that her son Izhaan made the match more memorable. “It’s truly special to have my four-year-old and my parents here,” she said.
