Six new cases of a COVID-19 variant have been found in Karachi.

According to the health department, six people in Karachi have tested positive for the newly discovered COVID-19 variants XBB and XBB-1.

They did confirm, though, that the version of BF that is very contagious had not yet spread to the South Asian country.

People say that the recent rise in coronavirus cases in China is due to the highly contagious Omicron variant, of which BF.7 or BA.5.2.1.7 is a sub-variant.

The NIH earlier today refuted reports that new COVID-19 variants had been discovered in Pakistan.

According to the NIH representative, “no cases of a new variant of COVID-19 have been reported in Pakistan,” and “arrangements have been completed to combat the new variant” in the event that a case does emerge.

Despite a dramatic increase in confirmed positive cases from 0 to 1,575,833 in the past day, no deaths have been attributed to novel coronaviruses in Pakistan. At that time, 30,636 people had lost their lives across the country.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released new data showing that 15 people across the country have tested positive for COVID in the last 24 hours.
