Shamoon Abbasi has spoken out about not receiving credit for his contributions to the popular HUM TV drama Jinn Ki Shaadi Unki Shaadi. In a recent Facebook post, the actor revealed that he came up with the story, screenplay, and even the title of the show.
Expressing gratitude to audiences for making the comedy drama a success, Abbasi wrote, “I would like to thank all audiences around the world that are liking my serial Jinn Ki Shaadi Unki Shaadi (title also given by me). Also, I am grateful for the appreciation of my story and screenplay. The serial is being liked by a large audience.”
While celebrating the show’s popularity, the actor expressed disappointment with the creators for not acknowledging his efforts. “I wish the creators had the courtesy to mention my name. If not as the director who developed this concept, then at least as the screenplay writer. This comes after working four months on the project with a writer dictating every scene,” he shared.
Abbasi further clarified that he assisted writer Syed Nabeel in developing the script as a goodwill gesture. Although his real intention was to direct the project, he also pointed out that his name still appears on scripts distributed to actors on set.
Making his stance clear, he added, “This post is for awareness purposes only. It’s not a fight or challenge, but I have all the rights and evidence to prove my contribution if needed.” He concluded with a reflection: “Never give away your hard work to anyone without a plan.”
Currently airing on HUM TV, Jinn Ki Shaadi Unki Shaadi stars Wahaj Ali, Sehar Khan, Arsalan Naseer, and Romaisa Khan.
