Kapil Sharma’s comedy sequel Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 witnessed a modest boost at the box office on Day 5, registering a 25 percent increase in collections on its first discounted Tuesday. With reduced ticket prices across cinemas, the film managed to push its total earnings past the ₹10 crore mark.
According to estimates, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 collected around ₹1.25 crore on Tuesday, showing a noticeable rise compared to Monday. While the growth is encouraging, industry expectations suggested that the film should have at least matched or exceeded its opening-day numbers under discounted pricing. As of now, the film’s net domestic collection stands at approximately ₹10.25 crore.
Despite marking Kapil Sharma’s return to the big screen, the comedy entertainer has struggled to gain momentum. The film opened on a weak note and failed to record substantial growth over the weekend, putting its box office prospects in jeopardy.
A key factor affecting the film’s performance is the strong and consistent run of Dhurandhar, which has dominated audience attention. Additionally, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 did not receive favorable word-of-mouth, further limiting its box office potential. A more positive audience response could have significantly changed its trajectory.
In comparison, the original Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) opened at ₹7.65 crore, a figure higher than the sequel’s entire opening weekend collection, even without adjusting for inflation. The first installment went on to collect ₹24 crore in its opening weekend and ended its theatrical run with ₹42 crore, earning a HIT verdict.
Directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 features an ensemble cast including Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Tridha Choudhury, Hira Warina, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Sushant Singh, alongside Kapil Sharma.
