Explosions outside two clubs in Chandigarh, including Seville Bar and Lounge owned by rapper Badshah, are believed to have been orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after failed extortion attempts. According to a Facebook post by Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, the blasts were meant as a warning for those who ignore “protection money” demands.
The blasts took place on Monday night outside Badshah’s Seville Bar and Lounge and De’Orra Club, which is run by local businessmen. CCTV footage captured a suspect throwing crude bombs at both establishments before fleeing the scene. The explosions caused glass windows to shatter but thankfully resulted in no injuries.
Goldy Brar, who claimed responsibility for the attack, named fellow gang member Rohit Godara as a co-conspirator. Brar, whose real name is Satinderjit Singh, was designated as a terrorist by the Indian government earlier this year and is believed to have masterminded the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, though the club owners have not commented. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in custody in Sabarmati Jail, is facing charges related to cross-border drug smuggling. Meanwhile, Rohit Godara, linked to multiple high-profile crimes, including the alleged shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s home, remains a key figure in the gang’s operations.
Badshah, who co-owns Seville Bar and Lounge, opened the venue in December 2023. Known for his contributions to Bollywood music, he has performed in Hindi, English, Punjabi, and Haryanvi.
