My Pathan: Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan appear in a Raees throwback.

The 2017 Rahul Dholakia film starred the actors.

Mahira Khan joins other Bollywood stars in praising King Khan for Pathaan. Pathaan followed Raees for five years. Bol shared a dreamy photo from their 2017 film’s set.

On Wednesday, Pathaan’s first day in theatres, Mahira posted a five-year-old throwback on Instagram. The caption was full of love, but the monochromatic photo showed two sad faces in an embrace. “My Pathan,” she wrote.

Raees, directed by Rahul Dholakia, depicted the alcohol industry’s collapse and subsequent illegal activities during Gujarat’s prohibition. The film also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Raees was 2017’s most-talked-about film.

Since working together, the two have complimented each other. Shah Rukh previously praised Mahira’s acting in “Indian Express.” “She’s a stunning actress.” She was famous before Raees. “It is not a new world that she has come into,” he said, wishing her luck in her future projects.

Pathaan marked Shah Rukh’s big-screen return. Despite obscene content, political pressure, and boycotts, the film opened to INR 500 million. The Sidharth Anand-directed action thriller stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, with Salman Khan in a cameo. 4:10 pm.
