Mixed Audience Reactions for Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani & Jr NTR Starrer “War 2”

Ayan Mukerji’s high-octane spy thriller War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, has finally landed on Netflix after a decent box office run. Produced under the Yash Raj Films (YRF) banner, the film is now available to stream in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. As viewers flock to OTT to catch up on the sequel, social media is buzzing with divided reactions.

Netizens React to War 2: “Hit or Miss?”

Fans have shared mixed reviews of War 2 on X (formerly Twitter). While some praised its thrilling action and Hrithik Roshan’s charisma, others criticized the weak screenplay, poor VFX, and lack of emotional depth.

One viewer commented, “#War2 – The first half had 10 dialogues and 100 action scenes. Second half improved but Kiara deserved more screen time. Hrithik was the saving grace.” Another user called it “the worst film in the YRF Spy Universe,” rating it 1 out of 5, while a few others defended the movie, calling it “an entertaining watch with solid performances.”

Criticism mostly centered around the film’s predictable storyline and over-the-top action sequences. A fan wrote, “Ayan Mukerji failed to build emotional connection. Logic-less scenes and average VFX made it tiring to watch. The post-credit scene was a relief.”

Box Office vs OTT: Can War 2 Redeem Itself?

Despite the hype, War 2 underperformed at the box office, grossing around ₹360 crore worldwide, making it the lowest-grossing film in the YRF Spy Universe. Released alongside Rajinikanth’s Coolie, the film lagged behind in numbers but is now gaining a second life on Netflix, where viewers are eager to judge it for themselves.

As the debate continues online, the big question remains — can War 2 rule the OTT space even after a lukewarm theatrical run?
