Priyanka Chopra has addressed Shah Rukh Khan’s claims that he avoids Hollywood for the sake of “comfort,” and she has a response. She claims that her ego isn’t bigger than her job and that she doesn’t need approval from others. Priyanka, a multilingual actress who has performed in both Eastern and Western films, has co-starred with Shah Rukh in both Don and Don 2.
In 2002, when she was almost eight years old, she made her acting debut and moved to Hollywood. She first came to Western audiences in 2015 on the TV series Quantico, and then in 2017, she made her cinematic debut alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Baywatch. Her upcoming role is in the online series Citadel, a spy thriller created by the Russo Brothers.
Priyanka was questioned about Shah Rukh Khan’s recent remark about not wanting to be in a Hollywood film while she was promoting the series. At the SXSW festival, a reporter reportedly questioned Priyanka, saying, “Shah Rukh Khan asks, ‘Why should I go there [Hollywood]? I am satisfied here.'” The report comes courtesy of the Hindustan Times. Priyanka shot back with a statement: “In my opinion, ease of life is dull. While I may seem confident, that is not because I am cocky. When I step foot on a set, I have a plan. Executive approval is not something I seek. I am open to job opportunities and auditions. I don’t take my past achievements in one country with me to the next.
Priyanka continued by saying that she does not put herself above her work. You may ask anyone in my circle, and they will tell you that I am really professional. Because of this, I feel a sense of accomplishment. My dad instilled in me the need for order and discipline during his time in the military. She went on to say, “He taught me not to take what you have for granted because of its value.
Priyanka thinks that her hard work has paid off and that she has left a legacy that will last. She stressed that she does not dawdle and instead “fails to dodge the gunshots and concentrates on her work.
Recently, Priyanka threw a gala in Los Angeles to honor South Asian excellence in anticipation of the Academy Awards. She already has Citadel out, and she plans to release Love Again later this year. She will also co-star with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the upcoming film Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar.
