Mustache tells the story of Ilyas, a Pakistani adolescent living in San Jose. After getting expelled from an Islamic elementary school for inciting a brawl, is forced to attend a public high school. Ilyas’ greatest problem is his mustache, which he started growing at the tender age of ten. Which causes him great embarrassment in school photos.
Ilyas, ever the rebel, recruits his new pal Arun to help him test the waters of controlled defiance. The movie takes place in the mid-1990s, and it shows what it’s like for a child. To be in the middle of a situation that seems impossible to solve and will change their lives forever.
