As a result of PTI Chief Imran Khan’s disqualification by the ECP in the Toshakhana matter, emergency sessions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab assemblies have been called for tomorrow.

Both the Punjab Assembly and the KP Assembly will have special sessions tomorrow; the former at 3 pm and the latter at 2 pm.

Earlier, the session of the KP parliament was set for October 24.

Because of the ECP’s decision to disqualify PTI Chief Imran Khan in the Toshakhana matter on Friday, emergency sessions have been called.

In their ruling on the Toshakhana reference on Friday, the ECP declared PTI Chairman Imran Khan to be disqualified. The ECP’s reference judgment is 36 pages long.

In the detailed ruling, it says that the PTI Chief was disqualified for breaking Article 63, 1(P) by making a false statement and declaration.

According to the ruling, the ex-prime minister had engaged in corrupt activities in violation of Articles 167 and 173 of the Constitution. It went on to say that Imran Khan left off his declaration of the things he bought from the Toshakhana.

The signature of Punjab ECP member Babar Hassan Bharwana was missing from the final decision. The ECP stated in a statement that member Punjab was unable to sign the verdict due to illness.
