Renowned television and film star Humayun Saeed has lauded his co-star Yumna Zaidi for her outstanding performance and work ethic in their latest project, Gentleman, which premiered on May 12. This marks their first on-screen collaboration.

Reflecting on their time together, the Mere Paas Tum Ho actor shared his admiration for Yumna’s dedication. “She is always on time and very hard-working. I’m the same, and it makes me so happy to see other actors like me in the field,” Humayun stated.

In an interview with Ambreen Fatima on her YouTube channel, Humayun highlighted Yumna’s commitment to her craft, noting, “Yumna has always been known for her stellar acting, and people have admired her for it. I had always admired her too, but when I started working with her, I could see that she spends all day perfecting her scenes, not in the make-up room. I’m the same.”

Yumna Zaidi, celebrated for her gripping performance in Tere Bin, plays the role of Zarnab, a journalist, opposite Humayun’s character, Munna, in Gentleman. Humayun revealed that Yumna was the only actor considered for the role due to her impeccable track record. “I had only ever heard good things about her. From the beginning, I knew the role was made for her,” he admitted.

Humayun consulted Yumna regarding the project, emphasizing that she was perfect for the part. “When she read the script, she absolutely wanted to do it,” he revealed. “She said it would be a challenge, and that the scenes were written very well.”

While keeping details of the show under wraps, Humayun promised a riveting tale with thought-provoking characters. “My character Munna is very interesting,” he explained. “I always choose my projects based on both the script and the character. Here I could see that the script was great overall and likewise the character had a great arc. But I don’t want to give away too much!”

Gentleman marks Humayun’s return to television after a three-year hiatus. The first episode aired last week, and new episodes will be released every Sunday evening. The highly anticipated collaboration between Humayun and Yumna has fans eagerly awaiting what the rest of the series will bring.
