As ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ celebrates its 25th anniversary, the iconic Bollywood debut of Hrithik Roshan is set to return to Indian cinemas, reports The Indian Express. However, Roshan admits feeling apprehensive about how modern audiences will perceive the once-celebrated blockbuster.

“I’m so afraid this film is releasing again,” Roshan shared in a recent interview circulating on social media. “People will watch it after 25 years and think, ‘What were we even doing back then?'”

Directed by his father, Rakesh Roshan, the film’s unique blend of romance, action, and music propelled Hrithik to instant superstardom. Co-starring Ameesha Patel, the plot featured Hrithik in a dual role, portraying the ill-fated Rohit and his lookalike Raj, who falls in love with Sonia (Patel). Audiences marveled at Hrithik’s magnetic screen presence, remarkable dance moves, and impeccable charm.

Reflecting on his debut, Roshan shared a humorous anecdote about preparing for the song “Pyar Ki Kashti Mein”, where his character mimics playing the guitar. “I stayed up all night trying to synchronize my finger movements with the music, thinking I nailed it,” Roshan said. “But my sons, who play guitar now, laugh and tell me, ‘Dad, you were completely off!’ I was just play-acting, and it turns out I didn’t get it right.”

Despite the playful critiques from his family, Roshan’s performance in ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ earned him numerous accolades, cementing his status as a Bollywood superstar. His journey has since evolved, with his recent appearance in ‘Fighter’ showcasing his versatility as an actor.

As the film returns to theaters, fans and newcomers alike will have the chance to relive the magic of Hrithik Roshan’s debut on the big screen, celebrating a defining moment in Bollywood history.
