Governor of Maryland Larry Hogan hosted an Iftar Dinner to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.

Today, more than 100 Muslims were invited to celebrate Ramadan at the state house of Maryland. It was a diverse crowd, the majority of them were Pakistani.

Governor Hogen said Maryland is home to over 350,000 Muslims and we appreciate and value all they contribute to our great state. I am especially proud of all of the great partnerships and friends I have made throughout the community and across the state. Ramadan Mubarak!

The Pakistani Ambassador his Excellency Dr. Asad Majeed also participated and delivered the speech from the podium. Founder of Muslims for Trump and vice chair of the governor’s commission on south Asian affairs, Sajid Tarar, spoke from the podium and condemned the shootings of Newziland, Sri Lanka and California. He emphasized on the religious tolerance and need for harmony. Azan and prayer were offered from the governor’s state house. Later on, this event ended with a delicious Iftar dinner.
