South Asian community leader Jasdip Singh Jesse amplified the Sikhs’ voice on the global stage. A native Marylander, Jasdip Singh Jesse, organized a successful fundraiser for Wes Moore, a formidable candidate for governor who won the primary, and Aruna Miller, a contender for lieutenant governor in the next election.

A candidate, not a party, is how we make our endorsements. As said by Jesse and Tarar.

It is essential to point out that Jasdip Singh Jesse and Sajid Tarar are both well-known for their involvement in politics and are, as a result, regarded as supporters of Donald Trump by the Republican Party. This information should be included in this discussion. They have defied their party to show their support for Aruna Miller, the leader of the Democratic Party who is of Indian descent. She is running as a candidate for the position of Lieutenant Governor.

Mr. Jasdip Singh Jesse demanded of the candidate for governor, Wes Moore, that if he is elected, he must celebrate the Sikh holiday of Vaisakhi, the Hindu holiday of Diwali, and the Muslim holiday of Ramadan at the governor’s mansion. He must also include a turbaned Sikh representative in the administration of his office. Mr. Jasdip Singh Jesse is the chairman of the Sikhs of America.

In addition, he said that lately, there has been a rise in fatal ethnic assaults on Sikhs, and Sikh businesspeople in Baltimore are suffering from growing crime. It is the responsibility of the government to assist these individuals.

In his speech, the Democratic candidate for governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, promised the crowd, “All of the requests that Jasdip Singh Jesse brought to my notice would be accepted.” In addition to the usual staff, the Governor’s Mansion will employ a turbaned representative to oversee administrative matters. Other holidays celebrated at the Governor’s mansion include Vaisakhi, Diwali, and Ramadan. Sikhs, Muslims, and Hindus in Maryland may rest assured that I will do everything it takes to keep them safe.

“Sajid Tarar said that our goal is to assist in bringing forth strong candidates, and we believe that it is our responsibility to promote South Asian candidates.”

At this particular event, donations to both candidates totaled over $100,000.
