One of Natori’s top recommendations for everyday wear, though, is way more accessible. When asked which nail color was most universally flattering, her answer was clear: Chanel Le Vernis in Ballerina 167. “This color matches any skin tone, and creates a very clean, natural nail that is not too heavy,” Natori told InStyle. The polish’s glassy pink finish is basically no-makeup makeup for nails, imparting a healthy, nourished finish in the swipe of a brush.

It’s funny that they call it New York Fashion Week, when, in reality, it actually lasts twelve thousand years? At any rate, the stateside season is finally, thankfully, now over. Not that we didn’t have a great time practically stalking Gigi Hadid from show to show, but after taking in so much inspiration, we’re ready to step back and start incorporating the “week’s” styling tips and tricks into our day-to-day.

While the actual pieces shown largely won’t be available to shop until later this year, there were a handful of items and trends on display that have been around for years. On the footwear front, celebrity-loved comfy sneakers and a classic boot brand were major, and this one intimates brand was even seen on at least 25 runways.

Natori, who’s worked with high-profile clients from Paris to Dubai, designed the nail looks for a well-manicured handful of New York Fashion Week designers, including Christian Cowan, LaQuan Smith, Slashed by Tia, Sukeina, and Aliette. The looks were all customized to complement each collection — think explosive ‘80s patterns at Christian Cowan and scorching white talons at LaQuan — and her team has over 1,000 color variations on hand.

But it turned out that one of our very best buy-now insider tips didn’t come from the runway at all, but rather, from backstage. We caught up with Yukie Natori, one of New York Fashion Week’s busiest and most in-demand nail artists, and positively grilled her for insights — and yes, she delivered.

The Chanel formula is a favorite among nail-lovers, having earned nearly 300 5-star ratings on Nordstrom and countless effusive reviews. Natori describes it as the best in terms of “coloring, trendiness, and texture,” and thanks to its infusion of ceramides and bioceramics, it will actually strengthen your nails with continued use.

While we’re still waiting for our fave NYFW looks to hit preorder on Moda Operandi, we’re not going to wait a single second longer to order this fashion week-approved, universally flattering nail color for just $28 at Nordstrom.
