Shawn Akhtar, a former Pakistan fast bowler, poked fun at Shahid Afridi on the occasion of his birthday.

Akhtar wished Afridi a happy birthday and included the cricketer’s name in the message.

The moment Akhtar heard the former Pakistan captain’s demand, he urged him to provide his exact date of birth.

Throughout his career, the date of birth of the former Pakistan captain has sparked a lot of debate. As a result of Afridi’s retirement, Akhtar got the chance to inquire as to the cricketer’s actual birthday.

Afridi praised his old partner Akhtar for the tweet shortly after it was sent, and said:

Thank you Shabi…Time is running brother 😄 https://t.co/RIokO7Qxnr

Espncricinfo reports that in his book “Game Changer,” Afridi said that he was born in 1975. However, according to the publication, Afridi in the book did not share a month or a day with anybody else.

If Afridi was born in 1975, according to the journal, he would be at least five years older than he really is: “official documents, including ESPNcricinfo’s player biography pages, reflect his date of birth as March 1, 1980,” they said.
