A filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoyfrom Pakistan, was recently revealed as the director of one of the three scripted ‘Star Wars films being produced by George Lucas’s Lucasfilm. She and Damon Lindelof are writing the title together.
On Friday, at the annual Star Wars Celebration fan convention in London, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni will be directing the upcoming live-action movies.In the upcoming “Star Wars” film, which will be Sharmeen Obaid female-directed and take place after “The Rise of Skywalker,” Daisy Ridley is most likely to reprise her role as Rey. It will show how a new Jedi Order is formed.
Chinoy posted a collage of photos from her eventful day on Instagram with the caption, “It’s been quite a day in London…The word is out! I can’t wait to bring Daisy Ridley back to the galaxy as director of the next Star Wars film.
Sharmeen Obaid continued, “That’s why I was drawn to the promise of a new Jedi Order: I’ve spent my life meeting real-life heroes who have overcome the most oppressive empires and battled impossible odds, and that to me is the heart of Star Wars.” which is why I can’t wait to be a part of a Jedi Academy led by a formidable Jedi Master.
As the word spread, the fraternity brothers were obviously very pleased with the director.
