In a statement issued Friday, Zulfiqar Bukhari, a former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, claimed that Prince of Wales Charles had conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The development occurred at a meeting between Bukhari and a member of the British royal family that took place in London earlier this month.

According to the former SAPM, a member of the British royal family conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister David Cameron and thanked him for removing British people from Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul.

After the Taliban grabbed control of the nation and overthrew the government, there was widespread instability across the country, and hundreds of people flocked to the Kabul airport to flee the country. Pakistan was one of the countries that freely offered safe passage to anyone trying to flee their country.

Bukhari went on to say that he was looking forward to hosting Prince Charles to Pakistan, since the two nations would be celebrating 75 years of bilateral ties in the near future.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cambridge, visited Pakistan in October of this year, marking the first royal visit to the nation in more than a decade.
