On April 22 and 23″ 40 nations will gather together via video conference to talk about how climate change is affecting the world.

A very glaring omission on the list of invitees is Pakistan. A nation of 250 million-plus people which is highly susceptible to climate change should have been extended an invitation. US President Joe Biden has made the environmental policy a priority.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has done the same in Pakistan with his various initiatives. The two countries can use this commonality of policy as a confidence-building measure to further their cooperation on other issues.

It is important that the Pakistani diaspora engages with their local officials encourages an invitation to Pakistan to this important event.
