Kitchen Ingredients To Get Fair Skin This Winter

Winter is a time of gentle, lazy skincare if you ask me. Stepping out to buy new products, or using harsh chemicals is not something that most of us like to do in this season. But, that doesn’t mean we can totally forego skincare. After all, winter brings its own set of skin problems, of which dullness is the biggest. So, we need solutions that help us get radiant skin even in the dreary cold. Concocting something safe and simple in the comfort of our home, then, is the way to go when it comes to fixing this issue. Behold: DIY skin brightening masks which will transform dull skin!

Dry Skin: The lone honey quickie pack

Don’t have time to mix ingredients and make pastes? Just wash your face with a cleanser and slather on some honey. Leave it on for ten minutes and allow it to moisturize your skin. It heals cracks and smoothes out dry flakes because honey is an occlusive emollient that deeply moisturizes skin.

Flaky Skin: Oatmeal goodness for dry skin

Buff away dullness with this soothing oatmeal mask. To make it, combine honey, oatmeal, and yogurt. Apply this to your face for 15 to 20 minutes. While removing the mask, gently cleanse skin with it, exfoliating any flakes away in the process. While the oatmeal is a gentle scrub, the yogurt helps brighten the skin with its proteins. The honey, which is a must for dryness, helps seal in moisture.

Sensitive Skin: Skin-brightening yogurt and rose mix

If the winter further aggravates your sensitive skin and makes it dull and patchy, this is the mask for you. To make it, combine thick yogurt, honey, crushed organic rose petals (pesticide-free, of course), and add a few drops of rose water to the mix. Apply this to your cleansed face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and see the even-toned glow on your skin!

Combination Skin: Apple cider vinegar, orange juice, and green tea mask

Many of us drink green tea and just throw away the leaves. But did you know that once dried, you can powder them and apply them to your face? When mixed into a paste with a few drops of apple cider vinegar and orange juice, this makes for a refreshing, anti-oxidant rich mask that your skin will totally love. Additional benefits? The amazing glow that this brightening combination brings.

Oily Skin: Traditional gram flour pack with a tomato twist

Gram flour, or besan, is lovely for the cleansing oily skin. When combined with tomato, this mix is a combination that really helps to remove build-up whilst brightening skin. You just need to mix besan with tomato juice and apply it as a mask for 20 minutes. While rinsing it off, scrub your skin with the dried mix. So, if your skin is dull and greasy, this will act as a nice polish.
