“DRY MEAT and Fresh Happiness”

Mardan is the second largest city of Khyber Pakhtun Khuwa province of Pakistan. Like any other village of Pakistan, villages in Khyber Pakhtun Khuwa are as same as of Punjab or Balochistan. Where people are suffering from load shedding and have no basic facilities of life. Village homes of Pakistan commonly made of bricks, clay or mud. There is no doubt about the fact that Pakistan is the land of villages.

Nowadays while celebrating Eid ul Ahza every one is busy in enjoying Mutton, Beef, some poor women of rural areas are busy in drying(preserving) their meat for future use. While talking to them they said

“We are poor can’t afford refrigerator so first, we boil all the given meat on fire with an addition to salt and some spices into it after boiling it we get them hang into the sun. We cover the meat with some fabric to prevent meat from crows. For many days we keep practicing this method meat gets dry and after that, we can use this meat for long without keeping them in refrigerator”

Kids of this family told me that we have “Dry meat but our happiness related to it are fresh” we can also enjoy meat but we need to get them dry for long use. Due to load shedding, we use a torch for our daily routine. These kids also applied Mehndi on their Chickens as because it’s Eid and time to celebrate.
