After giving back-to-back hits with Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho in 2018, Ayushmann Khurrana is back with his next film titled ‘Article 15’. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film’s poster and teaser were launched today. In the teaser, we get to see Ayushmann in a cop’s avatar who strives not to discriminate and do the right thing. The film takes inspiration from true life events and the 46-second teaser is quite an intense one. The film revolves around Article 15 of the Indian Constitution which prohibits discrimination against anyone on the basis of caste, creed, religion, gender or sex.

The teaser opens with Ayushmann’s voice over explaining Article 15 of the constitution. It speaks about the ‘Right to Equality’ or ‘Samta ka Adhikar’ as showcased in the trailer. Riots on the streets, protests, and police personnel trying to control the crowds make for an eye catchy teaser.

In a first, we get to see Ayushmann essaying the role of a police officer. Sporting a moutache and a lean built, Ayushmann surely makes for an unconventional yet convincing cop. Towards the end of the teaser he says, “Farq bahut karlia, ab farq layenge (We have created enough differences, now we will bring a difference).” Take a look at it below:

actor Manoj Pahwa who is playing a vital role in the film, said, “This film is not completely based on the heinous crime that took place in Badaun where two girls were raped and hanged. We can say that this film is inspired by that incident and we have included some chunks of it.”

The trailer will be out on May 30 and the film is slated to release on June 28
