Since her Bollywood debut, Ananya Panday has become a regular fixture at fashion weeks. The actress wooed fashion critics and enthusiasts with the power of her presence. Recently, at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, Ananya dressed in a mini orange suit as she played the showstopper for Pankaj and Nidhi.

The neon orange mini blazer dress Ananya wears has a notch lapel collar, quarter-length sleeves, lace cut-work detail in three-dimensional floral patterns, a double-breasted button-up front, padded shoulders, a figure-hugging silhouette that shows off her slim frame. Ananya paired her blazer dress with simple orange strappy pumps, delicate gold earrings, and a stack of gilded rings. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek and perfectly parted top bun, and she opted for a pink lip gloss, shimmery eye shadow mascara, rosy cheeks, and dewy skin to complete her glam look.
On Saturday, the second-to-last day of fashion week, designers Pankaj and Nidhi presented their label’s newest collection, Solaris. Miniature layered dresses, ball gowns, pant suits with trains, shirts, sheer tops, balloon sleeves, coordinated sets, etc., were just some of the items in this collection, which was designed to complement Lakmé’s skincare line.
The two said, “The starting point was the color palette—from orange to vermillion to purple to emerald green—just choose which looks good on Indian skin.” Having settled on a color scheme, we then sought to delve more deeply into our sources of creative inspiration. Kimono patterns, then, are reminiscent of those worn in Japan. We refer to these Indian-inspired details as “Indian ornaments.”
In continuation, they remarked, “So we have Indian motifs combined with Japanese motifs to make an exciting blend of artwork.” Many of our most recognizable appliqués have returned, though their appearance has been altered slightly by the saturation of the new color palette. Therefore, it’s a beautiful example of tone-on-tone texture isolation in this jumble of dense, vivid colors.
